About the customer
Our customer is active in the packaging industry, in the market segment where products are packed into sleeves, which are then shrunk tightly around the product using hot air. The FS400 machine is an example of this process. VHE builds and supplies the control panels for this machine.
‘Time to market’ is of crucial importance to our customer and this obviously has an impact on how we build the control panels. The control panels incorporate customer-specific components and options, so they cannot be scheduled very far in advance. This places extremely high demands on our organisation’s efficiency and flexibility.
The ability to have the required components delivered quickly largely depends on good agreements between component suppliers and VHE. As a result, we are able to finalise planning of the assembly work for the control panels in our workshop when we place the order for the components. This reduces the delivery lead time significantly.
Our hardware engineers monitor the order from beginning to end. Any questions are resolved in consultation with the customer. In addition, VHE is authorised to certify the finished control panels to the UL508a standard if they are destined for the American market.
