Roy Geerts was awarded international top-level competitor status by the Olympisch Netwerk Brabant with the support of the NOC-NSF back in 2009. In the years since then, he has been highly successful in various racing classes, moving up to the Formula Renault 2.0 class in 2014.
In 2015, Roy will drive in the Formula Renault 2.0 single seater class, which is one of the most competitive contemporary Formula racing classes in the international motorsports arena. The car features full carbon fibre monocoque construction and is homologated accoridng to the FIA F3 2008 standard. It is fitted with a Renault F4R 1998 cc engine developing a peak power output of 144 kW (196 HP) at 7000 rpm. The complete car only weighs 490 kg and achieves a top speed of approximately 250 km/h.
Roy is supported by a team of professional specialists in nutrition, sports physiotherapy, mental coaching, media and management who are determined to help him reach the top of his chosen career path. In addition to his top-level competition career, Roy is studying International Business and Trade Management. His racing activities are supported by a number of sponsors, including VHE Industrial automation. This means that ‘Success in motion’ will be on display at various international race tracks during the coming season.
