Duchenne Heroes is a challenging mountain bike ride from France to the Netherlands that raises money for the fight against Duchenne muscular dystrophy. One of the teams, The Fabulous Fanatics, was sponsored by VHE Industrial automation among others.
The team travelled to Givet in France on 13 December. The ride started one day later and lasted seven long days, with each rider covering approximately 100 km on mountain bike tracks every day. The riders overcame a height difference of 11,600 m and cycled a total distance of 723 km via four countries: France, Belgium, Luxembourg and Germany.
During the months leading up to the event, the team made great efforts to collect as much money as possible for research, raising a fantastic amount of €11,106. In total, the event raised nearly 1.1 million euros. This is an amount that everybody can be proud of and that will help pave the way to finding an effective treatment for this terrible disease.
The event would not have been possible without the support of sponsors like VHE Industrial automation.
