VHE supports Assistance Dog Netherlands Foundation
Some years ago, we decided to stop sending the traditional cards for Christmas and the New Year. Instead, we started making donations to good causes. The Assistance Dog Netherlands Foundation (Stichting Hulphond Nederland) was last year’s beneficiary.
This foundation is the leading centre of expertise for training and deploying assistance dogs for both medical and therapeutic care. The organisation has acquired a wealth of experience during the past 30 years and plays a leading role among the assistance dog training centres in the Netherlands. It sets the standards for others to emulate in its offer of different types of assistance dogs and the professional manner in which the animals are made available. The foundation teaches dogs up to 70 different skills in order to help people with physical handicaps or therapeutic needs. These are often people who suffer from serious physical constraints, epilepsy or trauma, and also children and young people with acute behavioural disorders, a mental handicap or Down’s disease.
We are convinced that our donation of €2500 will be put to good use in supporting the magnificent work carried out by the Assistance Dog Netherlands Foundation.
